LAHORE: Karachi Kings wicket-keeper batter Saad Baig is full of praise for his captain David Warner.

Following Karachi Kings’ opening victory in PSL 11, young wicketkeeper-batter Saad Baig addressed the media, reflecting on his personal form, the leadership of David Warner, and the team’s ambitions for the season.

Saad expressed gratitude for his recent run of performances in domestic cricket, noting that his confidence has grown steadily over the past six months. “My goal this year is simply to carry that momentum forward and continue playing the way I have been,” he said, emphasizing consistency as his main objective.

Responding to Moeen Ali’s praise of Warner’s leadership, Saad echoed similar sentiments: “He’s been our captain for the last two years and maintains a fantastic team atmosphere. He keeps the team very well-gelled. I believe if every captain does what he does, the team stays united—and ours has been for two years now.”

He added that the off-field environment has been equally positive, contributing to the team’s strong cohesion and morale.

Reflecting on Karachi’s ambitions, Saad highlighted the importance of starting the tournament with a win: “Starting the tournament on a high note is a great sign for any team; it provides a massive confidence boost. Our aim is to carry this momentum and these positive vibes throughout the tournament so that Karachi Kings can win the PSL this time.”

Acknowledging past shortcomings, Saad was candid about his determination to make amends: “It’s true, I couldn’t deliver the kind of performance I wanted for my team in the last PSL. However, this year my goal is to continue the form I’ve developed during the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and List A season. I want to make up for everything I missed in the previous PSL.”
